Imagesmith said...: I assume you are referring to high dynamic range rendering, the new wave in photography. Shooting 3 or more frames at different exposures and then sandwiching together digitally. I've tried doing it a few times but couldn't get the results without putting in more effort than I cared to. But I can see, and have seen some images that are just well, almost surreal, and with great detail, it has promise.
With this image I under exposed it in the camera by about a stop and a half & pumped in just a little light from an on camera flash to bring her out from the background. I also shot about 20 frames varying the exposure. Using photoshop I sharpen it, and I use a shadow mask action that is a combination of highlights, mid tones, & shadows. It either works or it doesn't, for this one it worked to a degree. So I use the history brush to paint where I want. From there I pumped up the yellow just a tad & painted again. There are 2 things I wished I would have done the first drop the iso down around 400 & put a little more black in the image, which I will do when I print it. Probably more than you wanted to know.; 10:42 PM EDT
